Last week the NJROTC cadets competed in the annual Honor Platoon Competition with guest judge, the Gunnery Sergeant from USC. The RNE platoons competed against each other in competitions based on experience level. The RNE NJROTC was split into two groups, Naval Science Three cadets (upperclassmen) and Naval Science cadets (freshmen).
In the three-day competition the platoons competed in three distinct areas. Day One consisted of academics tests, which determined which platoon has the most knowledge of Naval Science. The second day was the honor platoon inspection, and on the final day, cadets were tested on their drilling skills. Congratulations to First Platoon, the NS-3 Honor Platoon and the Fifth Platoon for being named the winners of the NS-1 Honor Platoon Competition.
